Remote Medicine
“Hello, my name is Kai Müller, and I am a Paramedic with a passion for working in challenging environments. My experience includes air and ground ambulance work in Germany, followed by medical repatriation work across Europe.
During my time as a Staff Sergeant in a Medevac unit in the German army, I completed one tour to Afghanistan and did three more as a PSD Medic, providing medical care in challenging environments. I also completed three tours to Iraq, where I gained valuable experience working in the field.
Polar medicine
While I love the work as Medic I could not see the “big picture” and took a break from working in war zones and moved to Norway. I became a Polar Guide and Expedition Medic and have done this since.
In my nine years of experience working in the polar regions, I have found my passion. The polar regions are, in my opinion, the most beautiful places on earth, and I would love to spend the rest of my life working with science and supporting scientific missions as a Medic.
never stop learning
To archive this goal, I am now studying in the field of Remote and Expedition Medicine.
Revolutionizing Telemedicine in Antarctica
During my time in Antarctica, I recognized the urgent need for an advanced telemedicine system capable of transferring large data files, enabling live chats, and facilitating real-time medical interventions with medical overwatch.
Despite widespread agreement on the necessity of such a system, no company or organization was willing to take the initial steps. So, we took the initiative ourselves. With a fantastic team, I began planning an Antarctic expedition to demonstrate the concept under the harshest conditions imaginable.
Today, we proudly offer a fully functional telemedicine solution powered by Starlink. For more details, please explore the “Research Antarctica” and “Remote Network” sections in our menu.
